REDUX: This post was made on my 20th wedding anniversary and this was a dedication for my partner, Nicole. Jason is without a doubt her favorite musical artist (ever) since I introduced his music to her in 2003 (and she listens to him almost everyday). We had second row seats for concert at Rogers Arena, but with great diligence, Nicole managed to win a VIP package that included a limo ride and meet & greet with Jason. We both got to chat with him briefly and had pictures taken for us. We liked our second row seats more than the front row seats QMFM provided, so Nicole we gave the front row tickets to an employee of Free the Children, who Jason played for during their first ‘We Day’ in Vancouver.
This song is new and hasn’t been recorded. I just hit me as the kind of song, I’m privileged to find (being there), shoot (always one shot) and post here (and my Youtube channel). It’s been named by fans because it hasn’t been published. So this title was made ‘by acclamation’ rather than by Jason. EveryDayMusic is part of my legacy for my daugher Angelique which is why I choose songs like this…
ORIGINAL POST: We were fortunate enough to be able to see him from the front row on this gorgeous day last summer in Whistler and he is the most viewed artist on my former channel (www.youtube.com/theinnertubetv) with an unreleased song called “I Never Knew You” (that I am also posting today) garnering over 75,000 views (and almost 40,000 views on this song). Happy Anniversary Honey! Thank you for being ‘my rock’ for 28yrs and our amazing daughter Angelique. You’ve (both) made me the man I am today.
Jason Mraz is an American singer-songwriter that first came to prominence on the San Diego coffee house shop scene in 2000. At one of these coffee houses, Mraz met percussionist Toca Rivera. After releasing Live at Java Joe’s, Mraz and Rivera went on the road. After gaining much fandom, Mraz released his debut album, Waiting for My Rocket to Come, which contained the hit single “The Remedy (I Won’t Worry)“, in 2002, but it was not until the release of his second album, Mr. A-Z, in 2005, that Mraz achieved major commercial success. The album peaked at number five on the Billboard 200 and sold over 100,000 copies in the US. In 2008, Mraz released his third studio album, We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and was a commercial success worldwide, peaking in the top ten of many international charts.
Mraz’s international breakthrough came with the release of the single “I’m Yours” from the album We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. The single peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100, giving Mraz his first top ten single. The song was on the Hot 100 for 76 weeks, beating the previous record of 69 weeks held by LeAnn Rimes’ “How Do I Live”. The song was a huge commercial success in the US, receiving a 5x platinum certification from the RIAA for sales of over five million. The song was successful internationally, topping the charts in New Zealand and Norway and peaking in the top ten of multiple international charts.
