I met Erica during this year’s Vancouver Fringe Festival. I make 12 days of amazing soup for the Fringe Staff and she was working in the Volunteer Centre. As we chatted one night in the Fringe Bar, I found out that her sister was also in town (she had been travelling the world with her music for a few years and they arrived in Vancouver separately) and that they played music together. Their entire family was musical and they loved to get together and sing songs like this one.
I’m not seeking to record only professional musicians. Music is a part of everyday life and I want to reflect that by finding/recording anyone who has a true love for music. It was a beautiful thing to see these two sing a song from they used to share and watch them rekindle those memories as they sang it together. And it turned out to be a very sweet little ditty with a passionate message…
