After I finished recording Tom Wilson singing “Shine” (in his dressing room before the Blackie and the Rodeo Kings show), he told me I should record a song with Harlan Pepper. I soon learned that Tom’s son Thompson is in the band as they all crammed into a corner of their dressing room to perform a song for me. They chose to offer the traditional tune John Henry and I decided to offer you a bonus track from their performance as well…
