I wanted to put up something upbeat today, but this ballad about Alan’s youth in Petty Harbour cutting out cod tongues is really what EveryDayMusic is about. It’s a song about a time in his childhood that was silly but very meaningful and the melancholy feelings of that time being lost to history (as he realized that his boy wouldn’t be able to share that experience that so many of his ancestors had).
So, I’m going for a second, more mellow but also more meaningful post for today that I didn’t want to let ‘slip by’ as I tried to maintain the more rockin pace of this week. Because I make the rules for EDM and can do whatever I like!
