Video #21 of 1000 – Aaron Jonah Lewis and Ben Belcher – Hang Me. Recorded live at the Rio Theatre on April 10, 2010 in HD (1080p).

Mr. Thomas Dolby allowed still photos but no audio or video recording of his concert. They posted signs and made an announcement requesting it. So, I had put my camera away and was preparing to enjoy a great concert and an evening off when the opening act came out (Aaron & Ben) and said they’d actually ‘like it’ if someone would video them, that they’d be flattered by it. So I did so gladly, then met them both at intermission, bought their CD (got it autographed) and hung out with them for a bit after the show.

Aaron Jonah Lewis is a multi-instrumentalist, performer and educator. He has won awards at the Clifftop Appalachian String Band Festival, including First Place Neotraditional Band in 2008, and at the Galax Old Fiddlers Convention, including First Place Bluegrass Fiddle in 2007, and he has performed at major festivals from the US to the UK and from Italy to Finland. Lewis has appeared on dozens of recordings from bluegrass and old time to swing jazz, modern experimental and Turkish classical music projects. He has taught workshops at the the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow and at the English Folk Dance and Song Society in London. He also plays and teaches banjo, mandolin, guitar, and bass and is currently based in Berlin, Germany.

Ben drew the pen and ink artwork for their album cover (and plays the banjo, guitar)… more info later.
