Video #60 of 1000 – The Ting Tings – Silence. Recorded live at the Commodore Ballroom on Mar. 27, 2012 in HD (1080p on Sony DSC HV9X).

I went alone to the Commodore that night (because I HAD TO SEE THIS BAND!) and stood with my drink in hand for a couple hours to maintain my spot ‘front and centre’. The crowd was well-behaved that night and let a photographer with a media pass into the front row to take pictures for the first few songs. After she left, another photographer took her place (and I didn’t notice him until..). A security guard approached him before the fourth song was finished and asked if he had a press pass and then escorted him away to either ‘check’ his camera or leave the venue. As they left, I heard him (security) say something about ‘using cameras with detachable lenses being against regulations’. I shot the rest of the concert with spot lights shining directly on me and security, management, sound techs looking right at me. But with a small camera like the DSC-HV9X I can shoot anywhere (and no one seems to notice)!
