Video #700 of 1000 – Daniel Lanois’ (Black Dub) – Ring The Alarm. For DAY700 of EveryDayMusic on Mar. 1, 2014. Recorded live at Commodore Ballroom on Feb. 2, 2011 in HD (720p on Sony DSC H20).
Each ‘100’ is a landmark for me and is harder to choose. Sometimes (during this project) I’ve dug deep into my (bootleg) archives to pull out a song I shot before I began EveryDayMusic. This one’s from 2011 when I was posting the music I was shooting on another YouTube channel called TheInnerTubeTV.
Daniel Lanois is one of my all time favourite musicians (and producers) and this a poignant song that is pertinent today (this is for Crimea) and features great shots of some incredible guitar work by Daniel (watch him gently touch those strings with his finger tips).
Wow, nice to see this version … Daniel was really "wide" on this one. Here's the article on this show: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/music/daniel-lanois-and-black-dub-are-all-jam-and-no-glam/article627831/
